August 2016

FOUR SEASONS EVIDENTIARY HEARING
Mark your calendars for
August 10th at 5 PM
at the office of the Board of Appeals
NEW office located at
110 Vincit Street in Centreville.

PLEASE ATTEND and show SUPPORT for KHOV and the Four Seasons Community.  There is supposedly a Legal Process for which projects are to move forward in this County, KHOV has followed that to a "T" and been 100% supported by the COURTS, yet they continue being harassed and delayed now for over a decade?  That shouldn't stand, and people in agreement and support need to ACT!

We think only those who signed up to make public comment previously will be allowed to speak, but bodies of those in support of this project is always a good thing! Here are some things to keep in mind if you are allowed to speak...
  • The property rights of the owner
  • That the Four Seasons project has cleared every step in the legal & code process, won every court challenge up to and including Maryland Highest Court, received approval after approval, while patiently waiting on the courts and legal process for well over a decade
  • KHOV continues to go 'above and beyond' by donating more land to the County, shrinking the size and scope of the project, utilizing newer environmental technology gains as they become available such that little to NO critical area issues now exist.
  • The significant revenues to the County through both impact fees, property taxes and disposable income from a senior population.
  • 6100 Construction jobs, 595 permanent jobs.
  • 10.5 million in cash to the County.
  • 6.5 acres waterfront Cross Island Trailhead Park
  • 131 acres Eco Park
  • 122 million in tax revenue
  • 58 million annual business revenue
  • 8 million sewer plant upgrade
It's time to put a shovel in the ground!

LETTER TO THE COMMISSIONERS - SKI
August 1, 2016

Queen Anne's County Commissioners

Commissioners:

It has come to our attention that construction bids for the Southern Kent Island Sanitary Project have been received and that you will be voting on accepting the bids at your next Commissioner's meeting on August 9th.

After more than 30 years of studying and discussing this project, we are happy to see it moving forward. We also applaud your efforts to round up as much State funding and grant monies for this project.

As we are sure you are aware, moving ahead with this project will be beneficial on many fronts. The major benefits will be preventing current and future health issues caused by the many older, failing septic systems in the area, and assuring Queen Anne's County continues to be able to secure the required (WIP) Watershed Implementation Plan savings which helps clean up the Bay.  And of course, an important benefit on Business Queen Anne's radar is creating local jobs for local contractors and others for many years into the future!

So, Business Queen Anne's urges you to continue to move forward and accept the construction bids on this project.

Respectfully,
Steve Donovan

WHEATLANDS UPDATE
The Queenstown Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution to rezone the Wheatland's property from the current Countryside designation to Planned Regional Commercial. They are now waiting for the County Commissioners to approve it, making the change immediately and waiving the five year waiting period. Stay tuned!!
