MEDICAL CANNABIS SEMINAR

Pictured above is the crowd of over 75 community members, business representatives and elected officials at the Medical Cannabis meeting held at Annie's Steak and Seafood Restaurant on April 5th.

The presentation was given by Chief Executive Officer Ashley Herr, Chief Operating Officer Paige Colen, and Dr. Jaime Fleetwood of Hippocratic Growth. They are working towards opening a medical cannabis dispensary in Maryland and shared a LOT of information about the diseases and conditions where various form of medical cannabis are extremely beneficial to both adults and children suffering from chronic and debilitating conditions.  This lecture was part of a series they are doing to promote a better public understanding of medical cannabis, the regulatory system in place, and how the legalization by the State will impact citizens and businesses.

One of the videos presented that evening to show the effects of medical cannabis on a Parkinson's patient. Click here to view that video.  The effects were astounding.

More information can be found at the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission. http://mmcc.maryland.gov/

For more info on Hippocratic Growth, please visit their new website at www.HippocraticGrowth.com

BQA would like to thank Mike & Helen Katina of Annie's for putting out a fabulous dinner and to the presenters from Hippocratic Growth who did a fine job answering questions from both BQA members and the public.

BQA has no position on medical cannabis, but believes that since it has been legalized by the state, the more the public knows, the better served they will be.

NEW MEMBER - SUTTER DESIGN INC

Karen Sutter, CEO and John Sutter, COO

The Sutter Group is a full-service creative agency specializing in branding and marketing. Their clients really appreciate the wisdom that they've gained in their more than three decades of experience designing, developing or maintaining brands. They're not a mega-agency with more clients than bandwidth and attention to serve them, nor are they an upstart agency that won't be able to fulfill a wide range of needs. The Sutter Group combines the quality and talent of a big agency with the level of service and care of a small business.

Their dedication to branding consistency and quality digital marketing services has made them one of the most highly sought after creative agencies in the D.C. metropolitan area.

BQA is excited to have this company join us! Karen lives in Queen Anne's County and is involved with many local causes. She works with the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, the Kent Island Beach Clean Up group, and also serves on the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council.

According to Karen, "I have been a member of the tech council since 2006 as an industry partner. Belonging to CRTC has kept the Sutter Group and me ahead of the rapidly changing trends in technology that affect our business. It's also been a tremendous learning opportunity through participation in forum groups like the Public Policy Forum and Emerging Technologies. In 2013 I was asked to join the Board of CRTC and have enjoyed meeting with the CEO's of some of the most innovative technology companies in Maryland."

We are sure she will be a great asset to BUSINESS Queen Anne's! Welcome Sutter Design!
